3 Simple Tips To Help You Relax

H ave you heard it before? The phrase…”You can’t pour from an empty cup“. There is much truth in it. I’m sharing 3 simple tips to help you relax because, as mothers, we have been fed a lie from society that being a good mother requires you to give up everything for your children. In reality, neglecting yourself completely, in order to care for your children 24/7 is actually doing everyone involved a disservice. I’ve seen women become mere shells of the person they used to be because they thought they were doing the right thing by sacrificing all for their children. Here’s the thing though, mamas, ultimately your children need you. However, you will not be the best version of yourself if you don’t take small intervals of time to recharge. If you’re like me and struggle to relax then this video is for you. Here are 3 simple tips to help you relax.

A Little Extra

If you’re no good at relaxing, then you need to make it intentional. You will need to schedule it into your days or weeks. For instance, I find it hard to just sit and do one or two things. I feel like I need to be multitasking all. the. time. So, I’ve made an intentional decision to do my nails once a week. Granted, I likely won’t just be sitting and doing my nails, I’ll probably be watching something at the same time, but I won’t be ‘working’ on anything. If you’re better at relaxing than I am, then you may not need to be quite so intentional about it.

  • Yes, such important reminders! My love language for relaxation is finding time to tuck away somewhere with a good book or hitting a quite trail somewhere and just listening to the sounds around me and my feet pounding the dirt!
