Hello, sweet energy! Oh, my goodness, how I missed you! That’s right, folks, this mama is in full nesting mode and I’ve finally got the energy levels to match.
My 22-week update isn’t all that exciting in the sense that most things are status quo, but for me, it is exciting to just feel good.

Motivation + Energy!
For several weeks I’ve been motivated to start organising the house, but I’ve just been too exhausted.
Now that my iron levels are under control I’ve finally been able to actually do things. I’ve sorted the kids shared wardrobe and put all the baby girl clothes in the nursery.
The nursery is still a tip, but I’ve been scrolling Pinterest daily for inspiration. I also taught myself to crochet a couple of weeks ago so that I could make a blanket for this baby.
Good news! Crocheting is easy and the blanket is already finished. I’m so thrilled with the outcome and am in LOVE with the colours.
Thankfully, the sciatic pain that I dealt with last week hasn’t come back.
However, SPD has been an ongoing issue. It’s mostly at night and considering our temperatures have been dropping down to zero, it’s really no surprise that I’ve been feeling it more.
My sleep hasn’t been great as a result.
My midwife suggested using a heat pack and that has helped a bit. On the really bad nights, nothing helps. The slightest movements have me groaning in pain. It feels as though there’s shattered glass all through my pelvis.
It. is. awful.
Did I mention that I’ve grown? Cause, I have. I didn’t want to buy more maternity clothes this pregnancy, as I’m fairly certain that it’s my last.
However, I think I’m going to have to invest in another oversized pyjama shirt at the very least.
The relief I got last week was short-lived. I’m back to downing Gaviscon like it’s going out of fashion. I think I’m going to talk to my midwife about alternative options as I’m already maxing out the daily dose of Gaviscon.
She’s so much more active! I usually feel her several times throughout the day now.
Generally speaking, her kicks are down low on my right side, but I also feel her up on my left side by my belly button.
Baby movement is honestly my favourite part of the whole pregnancy experience.
I love it!
Plus, Shane got to feel her for the first time. He’s never been as fascinated as I am, but I still make him sit there with his hand on my belly until I’m satisfied they’ve had enough bonding time. Ha!
It’s a mess, but I have a colour scheme and a fairly good idea about the layout. I’m really keen to pop into the fabric store and pick up something to make her some bassinet sheets out of.
I also found the perfect print to use as a feature in her room. I’m planning to print it in A3 and frame it. I can’t wait to share it with you all!
Life is so busy that I find these weeks turning over and a little panic every time it happens. I’ve got so much to do (or that’s what it feels like) and time is not slowing down for me.
But, it’s good to be busy, and content, and happy.
